Shipping & Transport

At Pawloom Shepherds, we understand that not every family can pick up their puppy in person. We offer safe, carefully planned shipping and transport options to bring your puppy home comfortably, while keeping stress as low as possible. This page explains how our shipping process works, what you can expect, and what we require from you.

1. General Shipping Policy

  • We ship puppies only when they are old enough, healthy, and confidently ready for travel.
  • Transport is arranged to minimize total travel time and reduce unnecessary stops.
  • All shipping is coordinated directly with you so dates, times, and locations are clear in advance.
  • We reserve the right to decline shipping if weather conditions or health concerns make travel unsafe.

Whenever possible, in‑person pickup at our location is encouraged, as it allows you to meet us, see your puppy’s environment, and ask questions face to face.

2. In‑Person Pickup

If you choose to pick up your puppy:

  • We schedule a specific pickup appointment so we can give you our undivided attention.
  • You will receive your puppy’s:
    • Veterinary health record and vaccination history
    • Deworming schedule
    • Any microchip information and registration details
    • Starter food portion and written feeding guidelines
  • We review the contract, health guarantee, and answer any last‑minute questions.

We ask that you bring:

  • A secure collar and leash
  • A travel crate or carrier for the ride home
  • Towels or blankets in case of car sickness

We do appreciate personal pickups but require a REFUNDABLE $350 DEPOSIT per puppy for reserving the puppy and then fixing a date for you to visit us and collect your puppy. This deposit is to get the puppy off the market and be guaranteed upon your arrival coming to get the puppy, and it’s FULLY REFUNDABLE in case you change your mind or something comes up.

3. Ground Transport

For many families, professional ground transport is the least stressful option.

  • We work with reputable, experienced pet transport providers when ground delivery is required.
  • Puppies travel in secure crates with proper ventilation and bedding.
  • Regular checks, fresh water, and appropriate breaks are built into the route.
  • When possible, transport is scheduled for cooler times of day to avoid temperature extremes.

Ground transport is typically used for regional and interstate deliveries where air travel may not be necessary or ideal.

Costs:

  • Ground transport fees vary based on distance, route, and provider.
  • All transport fees are the responsibility of the buyer and must be paid in full before the puppy is released to the transporter.

4. Air Shipping (If Available)

When air travel is necessary and safe to do so:

  • We only use airlines and routes that accept live animals under their current policies.
  • Puppies fly in airline‑approved travel crates that are size‑appropriate, secure, and comfortable.
  • Flight schedules are chosen to limit layovers and overall travel time.
  • Weather and temperature restrictions may apply; if conditions are not safe, flights will be rescheduled.

Before flight:

  • Your puppy receives a final veterinary check and, when required, a health certificate for travel.
  • The travel crate is labeled with your contact details and ours.

Upon arrival:

  • You are responsible for picking up your puppy promptly from the designated cargo or pet desk.
  • Please bring an ID and your flight information, as airports will often require documentation to release the puppy.

Costs:

  • Airfare, crate cost, health certificate, and any airline fees are paid by the buyer before booking is finalized.

5. What We Provide With Shipped Puppies

Every puppy shipped or transported from Pawloom Shepherds travels with:

  • A copy of the purchase agreement and health guarantee
  • Veterinary records, including vaccine and deworming history
  • Any required health certificate for transport
  • A portion of current food, to help with diet transition
  • A small blanket or item that smells like our home or litter, when possible, to ease stress

We take extra steps to ensure your puppy is accustomed to a crate and short car rides before leaving, so the travel experience is more familiar and less overwhelming.

6. Buyer Responsibilities

To ensure safe, smooth shipping, we ask that you:

  1. Provide Accurate Contact Information

    • Confirm your full name, address, phone number, and email.
    • Keep your phone available on the day of travel in case schedules change.
  2. Be Prepared for Arrival

    • Arrive on time to meet ground transport or to pick up your puppy at the airport.
    • Bring a secure collar, leash, and crate for the trip home from the meeting point.
  3. Arrange Immediate Care

    • Allow your puppy a quiet place to rest once home.
    • Offer water and give small amounts of food, following the feeding guide.
    • Schedule the required veterinary check within the time frame outlined in the Health Guarantee.

7. Weather & Safety Considerations

Your puppy’s safety is always the priority. Because of that:

  • Shipping may be postponed due to extreme heat, cold, storms, or airline restrictions.
  • We may recommend ground transport or adjusted travel dates if we have concerns.
  • We will not ship a puppy if our veterinarian or we believe travel would be unsafe or overly stressful.

If a delay is necessary for safety reasons, we will communicate with you and work together to plan a new date.

8. Payment & Scheduling

  • Full payment for the puppy and all shipping or transport fees must be completed before scheduling is finalized.
  • Shipping costs are non‑refundable once services are booked, as they are paid to third‑party providers.
  • Any changes to travel arrangements must be requested as early as possible; changes may incur additional fees from transport companies or airlines.

We are happy to provide an estimate of shipping costs once we know your location and preferred delivery method.

9. After Your Puppy Arrives

The first few days after arrival are important for helping your puppy adjust:

  • Keep things calm and predictable while your puppy recovers from travel.
  • Offer short, positive interactions rather than long outings on day one.
  • Follow the socialization and training advice we provide, adjusting as needed based on how your puppy responds.

If you have any concerns about your puppy’s condition upon arrival, contact us and your veterinarian right away. We want to ensure your new companion settles in as smoothly and comfortably as possible.

10. Questions About Shipping

If you are considering shipping or transport and want to know which options are best for your situation, please contact us.

We can:

  • Discuss ground versus air transport based on your location.
  • Provide estimated costs and timelines.
  • Help you plan for the puppy’s arrival day so you feel prepared.

Our goal is to make bringing your Pawloom Shepherds puppy home a safe, organized, and positive experience, no matter where you live.
